"Beating" a Dead Zombie!

My son (AKA: the funniest person I have ever personally known) and I were headed home from the symphony downtown. Our route took us down a convenient but dimly lit avenue that leads almost straight to our home street. As we drove, I remembered my friend who had to miss the evening's events to work a booth at the fair, so I grabbed my cell phone and called to console her. While waiting for Pam to pick-up, I noticed a darkened figure limping down the middle of the street about two blocks away....in the middle of the night! As we approached I could see it was a drunk, grown man wearing a blanket over his head, singing, and traveling with a bit of a dance in his step.

I turned to my 14 year old son (Preston) and said, jokingly "Wow! I thought that guy was a zombie from a distance!" Preston then proceeded to tell me, that if I ever truly encounter a zombie I should run over him! I said "No way! I don't want zombie-juice all over my car!" Preston says: "You have to hit zombies so they don't chase you and eat your brains, Mom!" So I say: "Preston, don't be silly! A zombie could never catch me in this car!" Preston: "Mom! zombies can run like crazy?" Me: "Preston! I have seen the Thriller video... yes, zombies are consistent in their chase, but not fast." At that moment Pam picked up on the cell phone and Preston says "Ask Pam, she'll know zombies can run fast...she used to be cop!" LOL!

  1. Tell Preston, "Not a chance in zombie hell that it would catch you guys in that car!" : )
